Recovery
After your breast augmentation procedure, you will be provided with a list of instructions to follow during recovery. These will include guidelines on what to eat, how to take medications, how to bathe, and how to care for your wound and dressings. You should wear your support bra at all times during recovery and rest with pillows under your head and shoulders. Some swelling and bruising may occur and will subside after a few weeks. Avoid strenuous aerobic and weight-lifting exercises for at least four weeks, with the exception of walking. As you adhere to Dr. Ashoor’s recommendations, your recovery should go smoothly and quickly.
Scars
Dr. Ashoor performs breast augmentation using the inframammary incision, which extends along the crease underneath each breast. Consequently, you may have some scarring in this location. However, scarring is unpredictable and depends on your cells, skin type, and healing. Scarring will be inconspicuous in some patients and can be hidden by clothing. Scarring after surgery is likely to fade over time.
Cost
Many factors influence the cost of breast augmentation, such as the physician’s fees, hospital fees, and anesthesia fees. During your consultation, you will be provided with more details about what to expect regarding the cost of your breast augmentation.
Pain
Some pain or discomfort may occur after breast augmentation. Dr. Ashoor will provide you with prescription pain medications to alleviate your discomfort during recovery. Any pain will be temporary and should subside quickly as your body heals.
